MEET BRENDA

Brenda Eskridge earned a Master’s in Health Administration (MHA) from Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Healthcare Professions and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Health Services. Her dissertation focuses on addressing the shortage of primary care physicians. Brenda began her career in healthcare as a medical receptionist at a busy orthopedic practice where she developed a passion for the business side of healthcare. With over 26 years of industry experience, she has held leadership roles in clinical operations management, revenue cycle management, business development, and strategic planning. Currently, Brenda serves as the Director of Physician Billing Governance and Risk at CaroMont Health, where she collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to provide education and guidance aimed at minimizing compliance risks.

In 2023, Brenda founded The Jonah Pearl Group, a healthcare consulting firm dedicated to empowering independent physician practice owners to thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing industry. In addition to her extensive healthcare experience, Brenda is a licensed Realtor. She first obtained her real estate license in Maryland in the early 2000s and has since used her expertise to help others through her book, 19 Steps to Buying Your First Home – What I Wish I Knew When I Purchased My First Home at the Age of 19. Brenda is passionate about promoting economic development through homeownership and is committed to helping first-time homebuyers avoid common pitfalls and make informed decisions.

Originally from the Washington Metropolitan area, Brenda was an honor roll student throughout her academic career. Despite losing her parents at an early age to alcohol and drug addiction, she was raised by her grandparents, who instilled in her a strong work ethic and a commitment to integrity. Brenda is deeply involved in community service, having served on the board of Catherine’s House, a transitional home for women and children experiencing homelessness, where she has held the roles of Secretary, Treasurer, and currently serves as Vice Chair. She is also the precinct chair for Mount Holly and has been a board member at St. Paul Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, since 2019, where she oversees financial matters.

In 2017, Brenda relocated to Mount Holly, North Carolina, with her family. She is the proud mother of three children: a 25-year-old son who graduated with a degree in Sport Management from Johnson C. Smith University, earned an MBA from Winthrop University, and is now pursuing his dream career in basketball operations for an NBA organization; her eldest daughter, 19, who attended Mount Holly Middle and Stuart Cramer High School and is now a rising sophomore at Clark Atlanta University, majoring in Journalism and Mass Media; and her youngest, a three-year-old who brings joy to the household.
